Nicole and I traveled to Myakka State Park to shoot this beautiful trash the dress session. The peaceful and serene location coupled nicely with the theme of our session – the ‘quiet’ Nicole has found while starting a new chapter in her life. When Nicole contacted me asking if we could shoot a trash the dress session I was thrilled! The idea of “trashing” such an iconic peace of clothing to symbolize leaving behind a time of your life and starting something new is so intriguing. I love that photography is an expression of the person I am taking pictures of as much as it is of my own. It is their life and their moments combined with my vision and my passion that makes beautiful photography. Photography that has life and meaning.
Jonas Peterson, a photographer whom I admire recently wrote a blog addressing photographer’s finding their own voice. He explained that “it’s not until you start trusting your own voice you’ll reach your full potential.” This really hit home for me. Who would have thought that starting your own business would include a ton of soul searching – but it does! I truly believe that when I let down my guard and clients that I am working with let down theirs, something magical happens. The best part is their is a device to capture it – to capture moments, connections, relationships, life. It’s beautiful. It’s exciting.
And now, the photos….enjoy 🙂
I’m thinking ur best work yet…
Michelle, thank you!!!
