Making the simple complicated is commonplace;

making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.

I haven’t shot many family portraits although I love to do so. I take them on as I would approach a wedding; trying to find beauty in fleeting moments. I imagine the kind of photos I would like to see on my walls thirty years from now. What do you see?  Matching outfits and completely posed compositions? Or authentic, raw, beautifully un-orchastrated life?

Liz sullivan - You never seize to amaze me! Your work is more and more beautiful with every picture you take! So inspiring! Incredible work!

Jaedyn & Scott. married. Venice, Florida

I am so blessed.

Here I am in Florida, surrounded by my closest friends and visiting my mom and pops and on top of it I was given the opportunity to shoot one of my closest friend’s wedding. Wow.

I had a moment tonight, while I was editing photos and putting together this blog post. That moment where you step back and slow down the whirlwind that tends to take over – that makes our lives feel so busy. This year has already been one of the best of my life. I feel like my business is right where I want it to be and I am excited to see it grow more. I’ve seen some of my closest friends marry the men of their dreams. I have met some of the sweetest angels that happen to be my friend’s children. I am going to marry the man of my dreams in 7 months.

Seriously, wow.

There isn’t much I can say about Scott and Jaedyn’s day that would do it justice. That’s probably why this blog post contains over a hundred photos. My words can do  it no justice. It was a beautiful day. It was filled with love. I was surrounded by people that I love taking pictures on one of the most important days in my friend’s life.

Seriously, wow.

Amy NaDell - You are an amazing photographer not to mention a very special friend. Big Hugs Kirsten, you deserve nothing but the very best in life.

Rochelle - Amazing as always!! I love them. In like 2 weeks I will be crying over my own pictures instead of people I don’t know. You get me every time!!!

Angela & Jason. married. Baker Beach, San Francisco

He said he knew he wanted to marry her after the very first time they met. Seven years after that first meeting Jason and Angela shared their vows with their closest family and friends at Baker Beach.

Love is crazy like that.

I was invited to the rehearsal BBQ. Their friends welcomed me with open arms. We went on a morning hike through the coastal trails of San Francisco and gave gifts to the labyrinth. I shot a wedding on top of an artillery battery.

This is the stuff that inspires me. This is the stuff I live for.

Thank you for putting me on a plane to San Francisco to document your day. I am eternally grateful.

I love that my camera takes me places I might not have gone otherwise. I like to get out of my comfort zone, to explore, to create. It is always worth it. I have been bitten by the travel bug and I want more.

Lindsey & Shuan. married. Rancho Palos Verdes

When Lindsey was a little girl her father gave her some advice: he told her to make sure that the man she married was her best friend. Lindsey took that advice to heart.

She met Shaun by chance during a cab ride and eight years later they married surrounded by amazing family and friends overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Sometimes… you just know.

Lindsey and Shaun have that contagious kind of love. Being in the midst of their wedding and celebration was a real treat. They emit such a joy and respect for one another.

Honestly, their wedding was filled with so much love.

This amazing wedding was coordinated by Beautiful Day.
